Who We Are and What We Actually Do
We are a design studio that also plans weddings — not a planning firm that also handles décor.
Swiftylumen was founded in Toronto in 2017 by a team of two — an event designer with a background in interior architecture and a logistics specialist who had spent eight years managing large-scale live events across Canada. That combination is not accidental. It means every wedding we take on benefits from two modes of thinking that rarely coexist in one studio: the ability to hold a visual concept with precision and the ability to run a complex multi-vendor production without losing a single thread. We work across four interconnected services — full planning, venue curation, catering direction, and bespoke event design — and we offer them as a suite or individually, depending on what you need. Our clients are couples across Toronto and Ontario who want their wedding to look and feel like themselves: specific, considered, and genuinely beautiful rather than generically impressive. We do not work from trend boards or house styles. We work from conversations.
How We Work — and What We Cannot Promise

We accept no more than twelve weddings per year. That number was chosen deliberately after our third year in operation, when we realised that quality of creative attention degrades past a certain volume — and that our clients, who are investing significantly in their day, deserve better than a studio operating at capacity. Every couple works directly with both founding team members through the concept and design phase; a coordinating associate joins the team for production and day-of support from the final three months onward. We are based on King Street West in Toronto and serve clients throughout Ontario, with occasional destination weddings in Atlantic Canada and Quebec. We do not promise that weather will cooperate, that every family dynamic will smooth itself out, or that vendor emergencies will never occur. What we do promise is that when those things happen — and sometimes they do — we have already thought about them, built a contingency, and will handle them without pulling you into the operational detail. Our job is to keep you in the experience of your wedding, not the management of it. The amber-gold warmth in every room we design is not a coincidence — it is a quality of attention we bring to the light in every space we enter.

The Clients We Work Best With
Not everyone is the right fit — and we think that honesty serves everyone better.
Our work is best suited to couples who have a point of view, however unformed, about what they want their wedding to feel like. You do not need to arrive with a mood board or a Pinterest account — but you do need to be willing to have real conversations about what matters to you, what does not, and where you are prepared to invest versus simplify. We work at the higher end of Toronto's wedding planning market, and we are transparent about that. We are not the right choice for couples who need a wedding in under eight months, for very large events (over 200 guests) without significant lead time, or for clients who want a highly prescriptive package with little creative collaboration. If any of those describes your situation, we will tell you directly and, where possible, point you toward a colleague who might be a better match.
